2022: The TMN Digital website was awarded first place at the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awards and second place for the Missouri College Media Association.

2021: The TMN Digital website was awarded second place at the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awards. The Missouri College Media Association awarded the TMN Digital website third place for Division II websites.

2020: The TMN Digital website was awarded second place for Division II websites at the Missouri College Media Association awards.

2019: The Missouri College Media Association awarded the TMN Digital website first place for Division II websites. 

Index

2022: The Missouri College Media Association awarded The Index first place for Sports Column “Why we should care about sports,” first place for sports page in the April 15th, 2021 edition of the The Index, as well as 14 other awards from MCMA. The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded The Index and KTRM Studios first place for convergent journalism with stories on Truman’s LGTBQ Center, as well as second place in podcast for The Index podcast Dry Ink for S2E22.

2021: The Missouri College Media Association awarded The Index first place for the entertainment review of “Honey Boy,” first place for the cartoon “Room selection be like,” second place for Best Overall Newspaper in Division II, second place for sports writing and second place for the cartoons “Is that the sound of … food?” and “It’s just a cough”. The Index was awarded 12 additional awards from MCMA. Missouri Broadcast Educators Association also awarded The Index second place for a podcast audio news story.

2020: The Missouri College Media Association awarded The Index first place for the entertainment review of “Joker,” first place for sports writing, first place for feature photography, first place cartoon, first place page one design, first place sports page, first place features page. The Index was awarded 14 additional awards from MCMA, including second place for Best Overall Newspaper in Division II.

2019: The Missouri College Media Association awarded The Index first place for column writing, first place for the entertainment review of “A Quiet Place,” first place for sports photography, first place for the cartoons “Clown text” and “Open Letter,” first place photo page, and first place features page. The Index was awarded nine additional awards from MCMA.

Since 2003, The Index has placed first nationally at the College Media Association’s Apple Awards five times.

KTRM Studios

2022: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded The Index and KTRM Studios first place for convergent journalism with stories on Truman’s LGTBQ Center. The Missouri College Media Association awarded KTRM Studios with first place in the video category for “Off-Limits – Kirk Gym,” as well as two other awards.

2020: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded KTRM Studios an honorable mention for the short film “So You Wanna Be A Journalist.”

2019: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded KTRM Studios third place in the short film category for the video “Nacho Normal Day.”

2018: KTRM Studios was awarded first place in the documentary film category for the video “Redefining Art: Filling the Fine Arts Budget Cut Gap” and an honorable mention for dramatic script writing for “Lilin.” 

88.7 KTRM

2021: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded 88.7 KTRM first place in the audio PSA category for “Go Vote,” second place for audio PSA for “COVID-19 Testing” and second place in the station promo category for “Vibe Check.” KTRM was awarded three additional awards from MBEA.

2020: KTRM received both first place for “Phone Call – KTRM Birthday” and third place for “Dr. Pepper Is A Woman” in the Station Promo category from the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association.

2019: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded KTRM first place in the Aircheck category for the “Free Style Joey Show,” first place in Station Promos for “Not A Christmas Liner,” and second place in Station Promos for “Baking Tips.”

Since 2003, 88.7 KTRM has been the recipient of over 65 Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awards in categories ranging from dramatic script writing, to sports play-by-play, to audio news and sports features, to production editing, and more.

Advisor

2022: Dr. David Price won Advisor of the Year from the Missouri College Media Association.

Detours Magazine

2015: The Associated Collegiate Press ranked Detours Magazine 4th overall in the “Feature Magazine” category.

2012: The Society of Professional Journalists named Detours “Best Magazine” in the region.

2010: The College Media Advisers named Detours “Best General Interest Magazine” in the country for its annual Apple Awards. Also, Detours was named “Best Feature Magazine” at the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers National College Media Convention.

2008: Detours won a “Magazine Pacemaker Finalist Award” from the Associated Collegiate Press.

2007: The College Media Advisers named Detours “Best General Interest Magazine” in the country for its annual Apple Awards.

2006: The College Media Advisers named Detours “Best General Interest Magazine” in the country for its annual Apple Awards. Also, Detours received a Pacemaker for its Spring 2006 issue.
