2015: The Associated Collegiate Press ranked the TMN Online website 3rd overall in the “Website Small School” category. The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded the TMN Digital website first place for college media websites.

2014: The TMN Digital website was awarded first place at the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awards for the multimedia website.

2013: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded the first launch of TMN Digital website honorable mention for college media websites in Missouri. TMN also received honorable mention in the Convergent Journalism category for 2012 Election Coverage.

Index

2016: The Missouri College Media Association awarded the Truman State Index first place in features photography, first place in entertainment review, and first place for news photography for Fire Destroys Building on Illinois St.

2015: The Index was awarded first place for Best Overall Newspaper: Division 2 by the Missouri College Media Association. Additionally, the Index received first place for the cartoons “Environmentalism” and “Candy”, and first place for Feature Page with “Inspired Sodexo“.

2014: The Missouri College Media Association awarded the Truman State Index Best in State out of all college newspapers in the state of Missouri. The Index also received first place for Best Overall Newspaper: Division 2, first place for In-Depth News Reporting, first place for News Photography, and first place for Story Illustration.

2013: The Index received first place from the Missouri College Media Association for Best Overall Newspaper: Division 2.  The Index also received first place in the category Special Section.

2012: The Missouri College Media Association awarded the Truman State Index Best in State out of all college newspapers in the state of Missouri.

Since 2003, The Index has placed first nationally at the College Media Association’s Apple Awards five times.

TMN Television

2016: The Missouri Broadcast Educators awarded first place in the Convergent Journalism category to Brently Snead and Laura Seaman “Take a Swing at Rock Ya Body.” An honorable mention went to Katey Stoetzel and Sarah Hicks with “Quiddich takes flight at Truman.”

2015: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded TMN TV first place in the Hard News Story category for the video “Early Morning Storm Sieges Kirksville“, as well as honorable mention for the video “Truman Students Participate In Vigil“. TMN TV was also awarded first place for the sports package “Breaking Through: Truman State Football“. TMN TV also won first place for the PSA “Drink Water“.

2014: TMN Television was awarded first place for the story “Hit & Run Victim Speaks Out” in the Hard News Story category by the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association. TMN TV also received honorable mention for the sports segment, The Dog Pound.

KTRM

2015: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded KTRM first place in the Documentary/Public Affairs category and honorable mention in the Station Promo category.

2014: KTRM received both first place and honorable mention in the Feature category from the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association. KTRM was also awarded honorable mention in the Station Promo category.

2013: The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awarded KTRM first place in the Features category.

2012: Members of KTRM were national finalists for work in social media, on the web, in production, community news, promotions, and for on-air interviews by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System, the largest group of collegiate broadcasters in the nation. Additionally, KTRM’s Brooke Giddens was named the top Program Director in the nation by IBS, and Geoffrey Woehlk the top Station Manager.

Since 2003, KTRM Radio has been the recipient of over 40 Missouri Broadcast Educators Association awards in categories ranging from dramatic script writing, to sports play-by-play, to audio news and sports features, to production editing, and more.

Detours Magazine

2015: The Associated Collegiate Press ranked Detours Magazine 4th overall in the “Feature Magazine” category.

2012: The Society of Professional Journalists named Detours “Best Magazine” in the region.

2010: The College Media Advisers named Detours “Best General Interest Magazine” in the country for its annual Apple Awards. Also, Detours was named “Best Feature Magazine” at the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers National College Media Convention.

2008: Detours won a “Magazine Pacemaker Finalist Award” from the Associated Collegiate Press.

2007: The College Media Advisers named Detours “Best General Interest Magazine” in the country for its annual Apple Awards.

2006: The College Media Advisers named Detours “Best General Interest Magazine” in the country for its annual Apple Awards. Also, Detours received a Pacemaker for its Spring 2006 issue.
