Missouri and Adair County voters reject Prop D

Missouri voters have rejected Proposition D with 53.625 percent voting no and 46.375 percent voting yes.

Adair County voters also rejected Proposition D in the 2018 Missouri midterm election with 4,538 votes, or 53.64 percent of the vote.

Proposition D was a measure about raising the gas tax in Missouri. If passed, the gas tax in Missouri would be raised by 2.5 cents per year for four years. The gas tax would then be 27 cents in 2022. The funds raised from the gas tax would go to state law enforcements and local governments for infrastructure repairs. The measure also created a state tax deduction for prizes from the Olympics, Paralympics and Special Olympics.
