Baseball has dropped its first eight games after yet another loss to the University of Central Missouri Mules Tuesday.
This loss was the Bulldogs’ final game before the team begins GLVC play in its home opener against the University of Illinois Springfield Mar. 9. A home opener was initially on the schedule for this weekend, however, the doubleheaders have been canceled because of predicted cold temperatures.
The Bulldogs finished last in the coaches’ preseason poll of GLVC teams and has been outscored 84-16 in the season’s first eight matchups. The team has been shut out twice and has only scored more than one run in three games.
The Bulldogs’ next opponent, UIS, is undefeated this season, going 7-0 in non-conference play.
