The Truman State University track and field teams had three Bulldogs place in the top 3 of their events on Saturday at the Indianapolis Team Invitational.
The women had two of the three top-3 finishes — junior Cassidy Smestead took second in the shot put by beating the previous meet record and the NCAA provisional mark, and sophomore Hannah Sells set a new meet record in the pole vault. Sophomore Blake Laird was the only Bulldog from the men’s team with a top-3 finish, taking third in the pole vault.
The Bulldogs have one last meet on Friday in Columbia, Missouri, before returning to Indianapolis for the GLVC Championships.
