TSU Greeks Experience Poverty
Members of Alpha Phi Omega participated in a peculiar simulation yesterday morning in Rehoboth Baptist Church. Fraternity members and Kirksville residents held a poverty simulation to give participants the experience of being poor. The Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency sponsored the event to raise awareness of poverty issues. The Community Action Agency is an organization devoted to fighting poverty and helping those in need. APO’s vice president of regular service Sean Parks says, the simulation allowed participants to feel how vulnerable those living in poverty are.
