A two-vehicle accident on Highway 36 has sent two members of the Truman State faculty to a Kansas City hospital. Steve Reschly, 55, and Lynn Rose, 52, both of Kirksville, received serious injuries yesterday after a rear-end collision, according to the Missouri State Patrol. The history professors were transported by life-flight helicopter to Saint Luke’s Hospital. Injuries suffered by Reschly and Rose are not life-threatening, stated a report from the Truman Human Resources office released Monday morning.
The collision, just east of Chillicothe, occurred when a van driven by Rose rear-ended a vehicle driven by a Mooresville, Mo., woman on Highway 36, just east of Chillicothe. A Patrol accident report states that the van occupied by Rose and Reschly left the roadway and started on fire. The driver of the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a Chillicothe hospital.
The status of both Reschly and Rose's condition will be updated as any relevant information becomes available.
