Death of Truman student


Senior Elizabeth Koch died as a result of a car accident Thursday morning.

The accident occurred outside of her hometown, New Athens, Ill. Koch’s car went off the right side of Illinois Route 156 for unknown reasons.

Koch’s vehicle struck a drainage ditch and rolled at approximately 6 a.m. Koch, who was wearing her seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Koch, 21, was a Communication major. She worked as managing editor for Detours, Index assistant copy chief and was a member of Phi Sigma Pi.

The visitation will be held Sunday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in New Athens, Ill. Her funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. also at St. John’s United Church of Christ in New Athens, Ill.
