Cindy O’Laughlin has defeated Crystal Stephens and won the election to become the next state senator for the 18th District.
O’Laughlin won 70.301 percent of the vote throughout the district, while Stephens earned 29.699 percent of the vote.
The final results from the Adair County clerk office shows voters in Adair County chose O’Laughlin with 5,136 voters, or 60.21 percent, casting their ballot for the winning candidate. Stephens received 39.54 percent of the local vote.
