Detours magazine is a travel magazine produced by students at Truman State University. It focuses on the tri-state area of Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. It was first published in 1996 and features little-known treasures throughout the Midwest. The following list comprises some of the awards the magazine has received since its inception.<\/p>\n
2016:\u00a0<\/strong>The Associated Collegiate Press awarded Detours the Magazine Pacemaker Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n 2015:\u00a0<\/strong>The College Media Advisers named Detours the 4th “Best of Show<\/a>”\u00a0Feature Magazine in the country\u00a0for its annual Apple Awards.<\/p>\n 2012:<\/strong>\u00a0The Society of Professional Journalists named Detours \u201cBest Magazine<\/a>\u201d in the region.<\/p>\n 2010:<\/strong>\u00a0The College Media Advisers named Detours \u201cBest General Interest Magazine<\/a>\u201d in the country for its annual Apple Awards.\u00a0Also, Detours was named \u201cBest Feature Magazine\u201d at the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers National College Media Convention.<\/p>\n
