Truman State’s Department of Public Safety recently reported a sexual assault that took place on April 13 around 8:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Student Union Building.
In an email sent out to campus, DPS director Sara Holzmeier says the pair involved were not Truman State students. She also says the alleged offender and victim were acquainted with one another.
DPS urges anyone with information about the cast to contact them at (660) 665-5621.
This is the second reported sexual assault within the past week. The first, according to a report from DPS, occurred early in the morning April 10 at a fraternity house on Michigan Street.
Update as of April 15 at 10:15 am: DPS has reported in a campus wide-email that an arrest has been made in the case. The email states that “the Truman State University Department of Public Safety arrested James V. Hood, 39, for Sodomy in the First Degree.” Hood is awaiting formal charges from the Adair County Prosecuting Attorney.
