After nearly three years of planning, the Dialogues proposal for the Liberal Studies Program reform was passed in a faculty referendum, and it will go into partial effect in fall 2018.
The results of the faculty referendum were presented at the Faculty Senate meeting Feb. 22 after Faculty Senate president Vaughan Pultz emailed faculty earlier in the week. There were 360 faculty members eligible to vote — 48 fewer than those eligible in 2015 — and out of those, 200 voted. The proposal passed with 117 voting to change Truman State University’s LSP to the Dialogues and 83 dissenting.
