Men’s Basketball falls to William Jewell 72-70 in first round of GLVC Tournament March 8

Men’s basketball circles up before the game. The Bulldogs were voted last in the GLVC preseason poll but were seeded fourth entering the tournament.

Sophomore guard Xavier Hall keeps the ball away from William Jewell College. Hall was recognized for being named second-team All-GLVC and All-Defensive.

Freshman forward Matt Haefner shoots a free throw. Haefner scored eight points.

Freshman guard Cooper Randall celebrates. The Bulldogs ended the first half behind William Jewell 36-30.

Junior guard Trey Shearer takes the ball up the court. Shearer was recognized for being named second-team All-GLVC.

Sophomore forward Brennan Lovette takes a shot. Lovette had six points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Redshirt sophomore forward Landon Eiland protects the net. Eiland had five rebounds and an assist.

Eiland goes up for the shot. He was 6-11 in field-goals.

Jeff Horner, men’s basketball head coach, talks to his team during a timeout. Horner was recognized as the GLVC head coach of the year.

Sophomore guard Casen Lawrence shoots a three-pointer. Lawrence had 12 points all from three-pointers.

The bench cheers after Lawrence shoots a three-pointer. The team was 13-28 for three-pointers.

Eiland dunks on William Jewell. He scored 15 points.

Shearer goes to grab the ball. He had five points, four rebounds and four assists.

Freshman guard Kobi Williams plays defense. Wiliams was recognized as the GLVC Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman.

Freshman forward Tobias Reizner looks at the scoreboard with five seconds left of the game. The Bulldogs were down 71-67.

Horner yells as a foul is called on Haefner. It was Haefner’s only foul of the night.

Hall makes the last shot of the game. He scored 15 points for the Bulldogs, going 3-7 for three-pointers.

Horner walks off the court after the Bulldogs lost their game. He ended his sixth season with a winning record of 15-14.
