The Truman Media Network won four awards in the 2016 Missouri Broadcast Educators Association media contest and 13 awards from the Missouri College Media Association contest.
For MBEA awards, audio, video and online multimedia projects completed in 2015 were eligible to compete for first place and honorable mention awards. For MCMA awards, text, design and photography pieces completed in 2015 were eligible to win first place, second place, third place, or honorable mention awards.

In both competitions, Truman State competed against students from a dozen colleges and universities in Missouri.
Truman State is a long-time member of the MBEA and MCMA. Dr. Mark Smith, TMN adviser, is a past president and currently serves at the MBEA Communications Director.
