Solar Eclipse viewing glasses distributed through the Adair County Department of Public Health have been recalled.
According to an online statement released by the Health Department, the glasses are not safe to view the eclipse through since there is no confirmation that they were made by a recommended manufacturer.
According to the statement, the Health Department purchased the glasses through Amazon.com. On Thursday, the Department was notified by Amazon that the glasses were not confirmed to be safe, and that they should not be used for eclipse viewing. The product is called AOSHR Solar Eclipse Glasses.
“If you have these eclipse glasses, discard them immediately or return them to the Health Department,” the Health Department said in the statement.
The Health Department also provided a list of approved glasses vendors.
