Club Connection: Alpha Chi Sigma
Alpha Chi Sigma is a co-ed professional chemistry fraternity that focuses on brotherhood and preparing for the professional world. To join, you must have taken one chemistry class here at Truman and come to our rush week events at the beginning of each semester. And love science!
Members get to enjoy a close knit community with those with similar interests. There is a large executive board and chair positions with a variety of different roles, providing many leadership opportunities within the organization. AXΣ also provides chemistry tutoring services through member volunteerism, which is a helpful experience on both sides. Other activities also include tie-dying, science demonstrations, capture the flag, acts of kindness, brotherhood events, advice and insight on future careers, networking opportunities, and so much more!
I’ve only been a part of AXΣ for a semester and a half, but I already am on the executive board as the recorder and a co-chair of the historian committee. Gaining leadership roles so early is a plus, but most of all, I’ve loved getting to know others who enjoy science as much as I do. I know I am surrounded by a supportive group of people who will help me grow not only academically and professionally through study groups and networking opportunities, but also socially as I gain lifelong friendships bound by the double bond.
