Truman State University’s softball team had an overall winning record this past week as they swept Lincoln University in a Wednesday doubleheader and split their Drury University doubleheader on Sunday.
Wednesday’s Lincoln doubleheader was a brief reprieve from the beginning of GLVC softball play for the Bulldogs. They returned to GLVC play for Sunday’s Drury doubleheader, however. All the Bulldogs’ remaining softball games will be GLVC doubleheaders.
The ’Dogs swept the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Wednesday, holding them to two runs for the entire doubleheader while hitting 14 of their own, including four homeruns. Sophomore pitcher Alyssa Hajduk earned her eighth win of the season with the first game.
The women then stumbled on their first game against the Drury Panthers and lost 3-1 with all the Panthers’ points coming from singles. That game marked Hajduk’s second loss of the season. The Bulldogs came back in the second game, however, with a 4-2 win of their own thanks to singles and doubles.
The Bulldogs play a doubleheader at noon tomorrow at Bulldog Softball Park against Missouri University of Science and Technology.
