Truman State University’s softball team shut out Westminster College through two games Thursday afternoon, outscoring them 18-0.
Originally the softball team intended to travel on Thursday to the Music City Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee, but when the tournament was cancelled because of weather concerns, the team quickly developed a backup plan and instead headed to Fulton, Missouri, to play a series of four games. For the second time this season, the Bulldogs traveled and competed in the same day on short notice and came out victorious.
Truman won both games by mercy rule. The Bulldogs won the first game 8-0 in five innings and the second game 10-0 in six innings.
The softball team will stay in Fulton to play Missouri University of Science and Technology on Sunday morning and Quincy University that afternoon.
