Truman State University took first and second place in the men’s 5K and second in the women’s 5K at the Jim Green Invite hosted by Illinois College.
The Bulldogs’ men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled to Jacksonville, Illinois, to race in the men’s and women’s 5K events. Truman only took the team’s distance runners to the meet.
Junior Mike Grasing won the men’s 5K, edging out fellow Bulldog freshman Branden Schaff by just over five seconds. Freshman Gemma Saathoff took second place in the women’s 5K, about 19 seconds shy of first place.
Next the Bulldogs will compete in the UIndy Invitational at the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 10.
