The men’s basketball team was eliminated from the GLVC Championship tournament Thursday afternoon with a loss to the Lewis University Flyers.
The Lewis team, which defeated the Bulldogs less than a week ago at Pershing Arena, knocked the Bulldogs out of the tournament at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Illinois. The nationally ranked Flyers rode a 41-point first half to beat Truman 72-55.
The Bulldogs finish with an overall record of 14-16, including the tournament loss, in head coach Jeff Horner’s inaugural season. The team clinched the bottom seed in the GLVC tournament, but it will likely not be making an appearance at the NCAA Div. II national tournament.
