Truman State University’s women’s basketball team soundly defeated University of Wisconsin-Parkside 71-40 on Thursday evening, starting their first winning streak of 2018.
Though the Bulldogs have a losing 7-8 record, they’re still clinging to seventh place in the GLVC with three games left in the regular season. Only the top 8 teams in the conference advance to the 2018 GLVC Basketball Championships.
The ‘Dogs consistently outscored the Rangers every quarter. The Bulldogs scored 17 points in both the first and second quarters, which steadily increased to 19 points scored in the fourth quarter. Sophomore guard Sloane Totta led the charge with 15 total points for the game, 10 of which were scored in the second half, and made 10 out of 11 total attempted shots. Junior forward Rachel Edmundson also scored double-digit points with 10 for the game.
The women continue their final home stretch of the regular season at 1 p.m. Saturday when they face Bellarmine University.
