Wrestler Reeves qualifies for NCAA Championships

Junior Sam Reeves qualified for the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships after earning a 4-2 record Saturday at the NCAA 3 Super Regional at St. Cloud State University.

Truman State University sent one wrestler from each weight class to compete in regionals, but most of them were eliminated with two falls. Redshirt junior Caleb Osborn won by fall in his second match but was then eliminated in his third match by fall.

Reeves had three wins by decision, one win by fall and only one loss before the placement matches. That loss was to St. Cloud State University’s Vince Dietz, No. 4 in the nation. Reeves then lost by decision in the third place match and won by rule in the fourth place match.

Reeves will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to participate in nationals March 9-10.
