Track and field compete at home placing first and second

Sophomore distance runner Kate Yates participates in the women’s 5000 meter run during the Truman State Invitational April 4-5. Yates won first place in the race with a time of 18:45.58.

Ahead of the other runners, junior sprinter Cooper Doolin runs in the men’s 100 meter dash, ultimately placing first with a time of 11.12. Doolin also ran in the men’s 200 meter dash and the men’s 4×100 meter relay.

During the men’s 800 meter run, freshman distance runner Nolan Henslee overtakes some of his opponents. Henslee placed twelfth in the race and achieved a personal best of 2:05.24.

Junior distance runner Lydia Lehmbeck and senior distance runner Kendall Dascher sprint in the women’s 800 meter run. Lehmbeck made a personal best with a time of 2:19.11 and placed third overall, while Dascher placed fifth with a time of 2:23.50.

In the middle of the women’s 4×400 meter relay, sophomore distance runner McKenna Ledgerwood hands the baton off to freshman distance runner Andrea Riley. Their team placed third in the race with a time of 4:29.65.
