The Truman State Student Activities Board recently announced via social media that the Fall Concert has been cancelled. Musician Andy Grammer was scheduled to perform at Truman October 24. Grammer is unable to perform due to his recent “success on the show ‘Dancing with the Stars'” according to the Facebook post.
Fall Concert Chair Olivia Louderman says SAB is currently refunding money to both student and general admission ticketholders for those who bring their ticket and their student ID to the SAB office in the Student Union Building.
Louderman says SAB is working to figure out what to do, and further information regarding the fall concert should be released within the next week. She said the contract Grammer signed allowed leeway for this to possibly happen, but they didn’t expect him to cancel.
“A lot of what happened was not on SAB’s part,” Louderman says. “We were actually told he was not a good dancer and would not go far on Dancing With the Stars, so it’s kind of funny how all of this worked out.”
SAB attached a video to the post in which Grammer apologizes for not being able to perform. “I feel terrible, I don’t know what to do with this feeling. I’m not a guy that cancels shows,” Grammer says in the video. “I really hope that I will get to reschedule this and come and perform, I was really looking forward to it.”
Truman Media Network will provide further updates when more information becomes available.
