Truman State University’s wrestling team lost 87-18 overall in their first GLVC duals of the season Saturday in Springfield, Missouri
The Bulldogs went into the duals looking for their first victories of the season. Instead, they fell 46-12 against Maryville University and 41-6 against McKendree University.
Sophomore Ashton Mutuwa and junior Sam Reeves each scored 6 points from their Maryville opponents forfeiting their matches. Those were the only points the Bulldogs scored against the Saints.
Mutuwa and Reeves were also the only two scorers against the Bearcats with 3 points each. Mutuwa had a 3-1 sudden victory over Vinnie Scalelta, and Reeves won a 8-4 decision over Luke Diener.
Truman will return to the Pershing Arena to wrestle with Hannibal-LaGrange University at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
